Partnership
The State Energy Sector Partnership develops the green sector skills of Nevada’s workforce through relevant training and other market driven strategies designed to couple the right workers with the right employers. SESP partners work to connect job seekers with the best resources available so that they can make a difference in their own lives.
Nevada’s SESP provides:
- Training for individuals to attain new green skills and advance along a green career pathway.
- On-the-Job Training offered to employers that hire new employees in green positions.
- Youth programming through our “What’s It Mean To Be Green?” educational curriculum and hands-on Green Mobile Classroom.
The SESP grant will serve 3,500 participants between January 2010-January 2013. Specifically, 3 strategies that target Job Seekers, Incumbent Workers, and Youth participants are supported by the grant activities:

DETR's mission is to provide Nevada's businesses with access to a qualified workforce and encourage equal employment opportunities.
Higher Education Programs
UNLV Solar Minor Program 
UNLV offers an interdisciplinary minor in solar and renewable energy. This program is available to students through two tracks — engineering and science, and policy.
