Why we solarized the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign

Clean Energy Project and Green Chips made history with the Clark County Commission yesterday by officially flipping the switch for the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign's newly installed solar panels. The world's most iconic sign is now powered by Nevada's very own solar energy!

When we embarked on this project over a year ago, our mission was to highlight the power of clean energy and encourage even more clean energy development in our state.

Converting this iconic sign's power source to solar is putting a stake in the ground, letting people everywhere know that it is possible to use our natural resources to power our existing economy!

In the end, that is what this is all about - we know that clean, renewable energy can help power businesses, homes and even signs throughout Nevada, while saving money and growing our economy in the process.

Due to our commitment, strong community support and policies pursued over the past decade, Nevada has seen significant growth and benefits to the state in the clean energy sector. But we have only just begun!

Yesterday marked an important day, showcasing what's possible when the community comes together and investments are made. If you would like to see even more, I ask that you sign our pledge in support of growing the clean energy economy that will continue to attract private capital, allowing our clean energy sector to flourish.

As always, thank you for helping us power the clean energy economy!
