Changing lighting, installing window film and adding insulation to a ice cream dipping freezer all have lowered their energy consumption. New freezer insulation is projected to reduce their energy consumption by 19%. Insulation, window tinting and new lighting afforded by CEP's event are projected to save this local, small business $682 a year. The Perfect Scoop is on track to a 2 year pay-back on their investment!

Our next step which is more capital intensive involves improving the efficiency of more refrigeration/freezer equipment which represent the majority of Perfect Scoop's energy use. Stay tuned for more results as we collect more utility data.
