Graduate Energy Policy Research Internship
The biggest energy policy challenge facing Nevada policy-makers over the next year is the possible deregulation/restructuring of the state’s electricity market if voters approve the Energy Choice ballot initiative again. The Clean Energy Project will produce a series of research products to inform this debate, including fact sheets and white papers, as well as summaries of convenings of Nevada business interests around discrete policy questions. Working closely with the Executive Director and a coalition of national experts on electricity deregulation, the graduate intern will conduct comparative analyses of key policy issues across states that have already deregulated their electricity markets to create retail competition. The graduate student will work closely with the Executive Director to identify research questions, develop analytical approaches, identify potential research partners, conduct the analyses, and write white papers for policy makers. This position requires excellent writing skills, an analytical mind, and interest in energy policy.
